Milner, Mikhail (Moshe) Arnoldovich (1886-1953)

Jewish composer and orchestra conductor, he graduated from Petrograd Conservatoire. He was a member of Jewish Folk Music Society. In 1911-1923, the conductor of the chorus of the Society; in 1911-1919, he was also the conductor of synagogue chorus. In 1924-1925, he ran the Musical Department of GOSET, and in 1929, he was the head of Kharkov Jewish Theatre. Having come back to Leningrad in 1931, he ran the Jewish Vocal Ensemble. He was the author of many musical works of Jewish themes.
